Hi All you Cool Cats & Kittens,
It's me ... CVPM Katee! I am from South Carolina, am a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, (GO CHANTS...C-I-N-O), and am a loving wife and mother of an adorable little girl and two pups. I joined the veterinary profession in 2013 after earning my MBA in 2010 and spending a few years in the corporate office of a restaurant group. I was raised by entrepreneurs and grew up in my family's restaurant. There I learned the work ethic that is sometimes hard to find in my generation as well as ignited my passion for business and management. When I first joined Kind Care Animal Hospital I knew little about veterinary medicine. Although my aunt is a vet, full disclosure owns KCAH, and we had many pets as well as bred dogs growing up I did not really know very much. Therefore, I started at the front desk with the long-term plan to move into management within the first few years.

After diving right in and soaking up all things Vet Med like the sponge I tend to be I am now the Hospital Administrator and earned my CVPM designation in November of 2019. I am so excited to start this blog and eventual next chapter of my career helping other private practices be more successful as I have helped KCAH!
I am very passionate about business and helping private practices be successful, well managed, well organized, and foster a culture that inspires veterinarians and support staff to thrive! One thing that needs to be addressed in this manner is how we have approached compassion fatigue, and I plan to start a new rhetoric on the subject. See my next post all about my thoughts on that subject. I look forward to this next chapter and being a sounding board for other managers and owners.... Cheers to the next adventure!!
